Name:
The name Mystras or Myzithras existed before the foundation of the castle and was the name by which the local population called the mountain before 1249. In fact, according to the Chronicle of Moreos, William named the castle Myzithran, "because they called it that way" (Vunin found it strange, a fragment of a mountain). According to another version, the hill got this name from the cheese of the same name, due to its shape.
Geography:
It belongs to the municipality of Sparta of the Regional Unity of Laconia which is located in the Peloponnese Region. The seat of the municipality is Sparta and it belongs to the geographical division of Peloponnese. It has an altitude of 301 meters above sea level.
Arrival Day:
We welcoming you from 12.00 onwards on Friday 02 June, at the Mystras Grand Palace in Mystras. In the afternoon we conduct a Pilates session by Dimitra, a local teacher from Sparta!
2nd day:
We start our day with a morning cycling and end up visiting the Mystras Castle. In the afternoon follows our visit to the ancient theater of Sparta and the first part of Mrs. Galatis' Workshop.
3rd day:
We hike in the morning with a local guide on an amazing route of Taygetos. In the afternoon we go to the Menelaion where the second part of the Workshop with Ms. Galatis is held.
Departure day:
Starting the day with mobility exercises, we continue with the act of offering books to the place of visit, followed by a discussion and then the departures.
In our Thematic section we will deal with the following in two parts: The place within us and also our inner place is our center, our history, our relationship with everything. In this meeting we will explore and develop the relationship with our inner landscape and how it contributes to our reality. Because everything is a ‘’relationship’’, otherwise they don't exist.
