Name:

In ancient times the island was called Dia, because it is the largest of the Cyclades and as such it took the name of the greatest of the Gods. When it was colonized by the hero Naxos, Son of Endymion the lover of the Moon, it was named by the hero with its current name.

Geography:

Naxos is the largest island of the Cyclades, with an area of 429.79 sq. km. and a coastline of 148 km at a distance of 103 nautical miles from Piraeus. It is the largest and most fertile island of the Cyclades. It is located approximately in the center of the Cyclades, south of Mykonos and east of Paros. The climate of the island is Mediterranean, mild and dry, with cool summers and mild winters.

Arrival Day:

We welcoming you from 12.00 onwards on Friday 07 July, at the Adriani Hotel in the Grotta area of Naxos, a few meters from the Naxos town. In the afternoon we conduct a Sunset Yoga session by Maria, Yoga instructor of the island under the imposing Portara!

2nd day:

We start our day with a morning run and end up in Portara while then we visit the on-site museum of Naxos. In the afternoon follows the session with Mrs. Zografou with reference to correct body posture, a fundamental issue for our daily life.

3rd day:

We hike in the morning with a local guide on an amazing route in the Melanes area and "get to know" Kouros! In the afternoon, the experiential event is held with Mrs. Zografou where we focus on breathing and its importance.

Departure day:

Starting the day with mobility exercises, we continue with the act of offering books to the place of visit, followed by a discussion and then the departures.

Poor posture plays a fundamental role in our daily lives. It significantly complicates breathing and makes us dysfunctional in our daily activities. But the most important thing is that it can also cause us serious illnesses. Correct alignment means less strain on the spine and more sparing of muscle function. In addition, the generally ideal alignment of the trunk facilitates the natural and adequate functioning of the body's internal organs. A practice dedicated to the correct position of the body and the mobility of the spine! We will then explore how important a role proper breathing plays during exercise, the usefulness of the diaphragm, in an involuntary function of the body that we pay so little attention to! So we will see together, how we should breathe and how we use breathing as a tool in the exercise to raise our vitality and get the maximum benefits from our practice!

Bring with you, if you want, a book to offer to the place of visit!
